I made this as a Valentine's gift for my dearest B.B., , because fuck the patriarchy, I'm calling it a friend appreciation day. I love you very much and I'm so happy to have you in my life!
This is Ashley's character Loki (who's silver markings are metallic, hence why they look so contrasty), and my girl Nervosa, the current Wicked royals on Cimoron Island. They are slowly becoming quite the couple and just alll the feels. They rule from a volcano, hence the background.
This took houuurrrsss. The background alone took me a good day to do. There is literally 105 layers, but I'm really happy with the result!
Hello there Eagle, I'm hangingbyathread from Cimoron Island. I stalk Nervosa and love your art, so here ya go!
Vision: I'm assuming vision means what the piece is intended to be? It's beautiful, and really relays a clear message, and aura of fear and protection. Not sure if that's what you wanted, but since I can kinda see the whites of the horse's eyes that's what it looks like to me. Great job!
Originality: I've seen a good number of horses in a volcano landscape, but I don't blame you since that's the Wicked capital. The idea of a volcano next to an ocean, though, is amazing. Also, Loki's...uh...necklace pendant thing is awesome.
Technique: This is critique, so be aware that none of this is personal, just helping you! The volcano, in my opinion, could have been done a little better, as right now it looks a little..flat. You know what I mean? The smoke above it; I can't tell if it's coming out of the volcano or just haphazardly floating in front of it. Maybe define the opening of the volcano a little more?
Impact: The way you did the sun is really good, I like how it draws your eye towards that part of the piece and not directly at the horses. It looks very realistic. I love the image of 'coming out of the darkness into the dying light'.
Overall, you did a great job on this piece, but there are a couple things that I thought they could've been just as stunning as the rest of the piece with a little more work. Hypercritical me, but yeah. Love you Eagle!
